Wampanoag tribal member, musician and educator will share stories and history relating to traditional Wampanoag scallop boats, fishing boats and Mishoon, highlighting their role in collaboration, community and cultural ties.

Nat Benjamin

Boat builder and sailor, will read from his book The Wide Sea, recounting his history on the water and adventure to discover what is important— true love, good friends, family and the greatest challenge of all, the sea itself.

Julia Kidd

Not so much a boat lover as an observer of boating behavior. She will be reading from her essay collection, Trouble with Boats, covering topics such as what happens when her date orders the fish and her father’s burial at sea.
